Friday 15th December was a resounding seasonal success as The Charter School came together to support those less fortunate than ourselves.
On Friday the 15 December we were supporting three charitable causes at school. Students and staff were invited to wear a Christmas jumper in exchange for donating £1. After a very colourful day we raised a magnificent £485 for Save the Children.
On the same day we also invited families to make donations to the Southwark Food Bank - over 500 items of food and toiletries were donated - all of which will help to make someone's Christmas a less stressful time.
Finally we ran our annual Crisis at Christmas box competition. Tutor groups and staff were invited to collect donations for Crisis and put them in a festive themed box. Prizes were awarded for the best designs. Again the school community demonstrated its generosity and nearly 30 boxes full of non-perishable food, toiletries, clothes and art materials were collected.
The winners of the best box design were 7T with their fantastic gingerbread house theme.
Thank you to everyone who gave generously to support these causes.
