Charter student's photograph wins Amnesty Youth Award

James Greenhalgh of The Charter School has won the photography strand of the prestigious Amnesty Youth Awards. The awards attract thousands of entries from across the UK.

Just after he received the award James said "My winning photo is of my friend Jack sitting on the floor in an alley posing as a homeless person. It shows how easy it is for people to ignore their plight. The photo is split in two, the dark side is about ignorance amd illustrates how easy people find it to avoid tackling this issue. When the competition came about at school I thought I'd just give it a go, but I never thought I'd get here!".
