Who we are
The Friends of The Charter School is run by parent volunteers working closely with school staff to raise funds and support events for the school and the school community.
The money raised by the Friends, through events and other fundraising activities, is used to support extra curricula opportunities for all students by funding equipment and supporting participation.
For example, The Friends bought trampolines for the Sports Department two years ago, which are now regularly used for the popular trampoline club several times a week.
‘My daughter loves the Trampolining Club – it’s where she met all her friends’. (Y7 parent, 2017)
Last year, we raised the money for a new PA system for the school assembly hall, supported participation in the expanding Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and Year 8 outward bound activities, including the purchase of more tents.
We also introduced year group social evenings to bring parents together.
Why not get involved?
All parents and carers are welcome to get involved with The Friends of The Charter School; it’s a great way to meet other parents and support the school, and we always need more willing volunteers.
Monthly meetings – All welcome!

Upcoming events – can you help?
We have two major events in school this term and we will need lots of volunteers to help to organise and run them. Both events are great fun and help to raise significant amounts of money for the school.
- Sports Personality of the Year Awards: Friday 22 September - Volunteers needed for bar & refreshments
- Christmas Fair: Thursday 23 November - Volunteers needed for pre-planning and on the night
Email us at email@example.com to volunteer to help at an event, sign-up to receive information about upcoming meetings and events or just to find out more.
