Who we are
The Friends of The Charter School is run by parent volunteers working closely with school staff to raise funds and support events for the school and the school community.
The money raised by the Friends, through events and other fundraising activities, is used to support extra curricula opportunities for all students by funding equipment and supporting participation.
For example, The Friends bought trampolines for the Sports Department two years ago, which are now regularly used for the popular trampoline club several times a week.
‘My daughter loves the Trampolining Club – it’s where she met all her friends’. (Y7 parent, 2017)
This year, we’re fundraising for a new PA system for the school assembly hall, supporting participation in the expanding Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and Year 8 outward bound activities, including the purchase of more tents.
We have also introduced year group social evenings to bring parents together.
