The Charter School

Local Community

As part of our Specialist School requirements we have been working with our local community.  We have run Silver Surfers' computer course sattended by local residents.   We work with Three Hills Community Forum, The Dulwich Helpline, King's College Hospital and South Bank University.

We also have strong links with our feeder primary schools.  We have run masterclasses in maths, science for year 6 pupils.  Our Year 12 sports scientists are working with year 3 pupils delivering lessons on a weekly basis.  As part of our Academic Peer Tutoring programme our pupils ave been helping teach science, maths and modern foreign languages to local primary school pupils.

Our science department are to be running inset training programmes for science co-ordinators for colleagues from our local primary schools.

Primary schools have also worked with us for our art exhibition as part of the Dulwich Festival, they visited our award wining 'Some Like It Hot' display last summer and often visit to enjoy music and drama performances.  If you would like to know more or would like to work more with us please contact our Community Manager, Ms Proctor  - LProctor@charter.southwark.sch.uk or call 020 7346 6636.
